Fire - EMS Stations  in  the City of Roanoke
Roanoke Fire-EMS - operates from 11 stations located throughout the City of Roanoke, with administrative offices housed on the third floor of the newly constructed Station 1 located at the intersection of Franklin Roa and Elm Avenue. The department is a full-service fire and emergency medical service agency, providing basic and advanced pre-hospital life support, fire prevention and education programs, fire suppression services, arson detection, vehicle extrication, and heavy tactical rescue; and supports a regional hazardous materials team.

The Roanoke Fire-EMS operates 10 fire engines, 4 aerial ladder trucks, 8 ambulances, 1 part time ambulance, and 3 command vehicles 24/7. Firefighter/EMTs operate out of 11 stations with 14 pieces of front-line fire apparatus, 8 front-line EMS units, 1 medium-squad and 1 HazMat unit.

In addition to housing firefighting and EMS personnel and apparatus, fire-EMS stations are neighborhood resources. Personnel at these sites help distribute important city documents, teach children about fire safety, and provide a safe place for lost children and adults. Six of the stations are official polling places for all city elections. They invite you to stop by any of our stations any time to learn more about what they do.
